  9. data collection system. Data Collector provides the user with the capability to
  10. display user-specified prompts and messages at the data collection terminals,
  11. collect data from a range of different data collection terminal types,
  12. including protables and RF linked devices, validate the collected information
  13. against user-specified criteria (including data collected elsewhere in the
  14. system) and store this data in a resilient manner to enable it to be processed
  15. by applications such as time and attendance, shop floor material movements,
  16. production recording, machine downtime analysis, inventory management,
  17. warehouse control etc.
